In the event of a severe wind or ice storm that causes damage to trees, remember these numbers to call to make reports. City crews are responsible for the pruning or removal of all public trees damaged by storms. Call 356-5100 to determine whether a tree is City or privately owned.

Call Forestry at 356-5100 if during working hours (Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.)
If damage occurs after working hours, evenings, weekends and holidays: Call Police at 356-5275 (not 9-1-1).


When to call Forestry or private tree care specialist:

Street Tree Damage
A City-owned street tree (between sidewalk and street). Please call 356-5100 during working hours or Police at 356-5275 after work hours.

Privately Owned Tree Fallen onto Public Spaces such as Street or Sidewalk
Call Forestry at 356-5100 during working hours or Police at 356-5275 after work hours. The final decision for cleanup of private trees from public property rests entirely with Forestry Division staff. A private contractor must be contacted by the resident or owner to clean up the rest of the damage/tree on private property.

Private Tree on Private Property
Damaged and fallen onto private property. A private tree contractor must be called by the resident or owner.

Brush cleanup
The Forestry staff will pick up the brush that was created from the cleanup of street trees. For private brush pickup, refer to yard waste regulations or contract with private tree care specialists.
