The City of Iowa City’s annual year-end financial summary, which provides information on actual income, incurred expenses and financial position through the end of fiscal year 2015, is now available on the City’s website at www.icgov.org/budget. Compilation of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) is required by the State Code of Iowa.
The 171-page wrap-up report will be reviewed by the City Council and submitted to the City’s bond holders. It will also be forwarded to auditors for annual review, and to the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for consideration for an award in government financial reporting. The City of Iowa City has earned the GFOA award for excellence for the past 29 years.
In addition to the CAFR report, other financial documents currently available at www.icgov.org/budget include the proposed budget for fiscal year 2017, which runs July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017, and which is currently undergoing review and approval by Council; the FY2016 adopted budget for the current fiscal year that ends June 30, 2016; and the City’s current and proposed two-year financial plans.
