The annual Iowa City Emergency Services Youth Summer Camp, held each year in the month of July, has been canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The annual summer camp teaches local junior high and high school students how local police, firefighters, and ambulance service personnel keep the community safe.
Kids would practice fire skills, like ladders and hoses; learn emergency response tactics, like CPR and first aid; and learn more about law enforcement units, like the K9 unit, the bomb squad, and special investigations unit.
