As spring flowers continue to bloom across the City, our Parks and Recreation Department reminds residents that there is a very important reason why Parks staff don't spray to remove dandelions.

Though many may remove the bright yellow flower, the City does not spray for dandelions because they are vital food source for pollinators likes bees. More pollinators mean more beautiful flowers and other plants in our parks and gardens!

Less spray used to kill plants also helps ensure safer parks for kids, pets, and all residents in our community. So if you see any dandelions at City parks, feel free to let them bee!
