Iowa City's annual year-end financial report, which provides information on actual income, incurred expenses, and financial position through the end of fiscal year 2021, is now available at icgov.org/budget . Compilation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) is required by the Iowa Code.

The 144-page report will be reviewed by the City Council and submitted to the City's bondholders.

Iowa City Police responded to 402 Fairchild St. at approximately 9:46 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021, for multiple reports of shots fired.

Responding officers entered the residence and encountered the suspected shooter in the second floor of the home. A firearm was recovered. Police also encountered an individual suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. That person has been hospitalized and is being treated for his injuries.

The suspect is in custody and charges are pending. Police do not believe there is an active public safety threat associated with this incident.
