The City of Iowa City Green Iowa AmeriCorps team will be hosting a fall clean up from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019.
AmeriCorps members will be cleaning up trash along Highway 6 between Sycamore and South Gilbert Streets. Adult volunteers who want to join are invited to meet at 9:30 a.m. on the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Taylor Drive.
This event is being held in collaboration with the Southside Neighborhood District, Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity, and the Iowa Department of Transportation's Adopt-A-Highway program.
Green Iowa AmeriCorps is a state-wide community service program founded in 2009 to address conservation and sustainable usage of energy resources.
Iowa City's Green Iowa AmeriCorps team is hosted by the Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department, and is working to empower residents through free home energy assessments, weatherization, energy education, and outreach.
