A discovery during an organized search on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, is believed to be Nikolai “Niko” Stielow, who had been missing since Saturday night. 

Iowa City and Coralville Fire Departments, with the assistance of the K9 Alliance of Iowa, made the discovery at approximately 1:19 p.m. Wednesday in a heavily wooded area south of Whiting Avenue and west of Kimball Road.

Preliminary information shows no signs of foul play; however, a final determination as to the cause of death will be made after a complete investigation, including an autopsy by the Johnson County Medical Examiner.

The family of Niko appreciate all who have assisted and expressed concern over the last few days, and request privacy during this difficult time.
