The closure of Park Road between Riverside Drive and the Upper City Park exit has been moved to Thursday, July 14, 2016 instead of Wednesday, July 13, 2016

The closure is necessary for work as part of the Iowa City Gateway Project, a flood mitigation effort that will elevate Dubuque Street while also raising and replacing the Park Road Bridge.

People will be able to access Upper City Park from Riverside Drive and Lower City Park from Dubuque Street and the Park Road Bridge. Drivers trying to access Riverside Drive and areas west of Park Road will find a posted detour using Iowa Avenue.

This portion of Park Road should reopen to traffic in mid-August.

The Gateway Project timeline is fluid and subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen delays.
