As part of the investigation into the robbery reported on Aug. 23, 2022, Iowa City Police conducted a traffic stop in Iowa City around 12:35 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 24. Inside the vehicle were Clarence L. Jackson, 28, of North Liberty; and Michael E. Preslicka, 29, of Iowa City; the Kum & Go employee who reported being robbed.

Police believe Jackson and Preslicka conspired to stage the Kum & Go robbery. As a result of the investigation, Jackson and Preslicka have been arrested and face the following charges:

A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Additional charges are possible. No further information is available at this time.

At 1:12 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2022, Iowa City Police responded to Kum & Go, 955 Mormon Trek Blvd., for a report of a robbery. Witnesses reported the suspect threatened to shoot the store clerk, but did not display a firearm. The suspect then fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.
