Several Transit changes will go into effect for the Iowa City Jazz Festival, happening Friday, June 30 through Sunday, July 2, 2017.

To allow for festival set-up, starting at 6 a.m., Thursday, June 29, 2017, the bus interchange will move from Washington and Clinton Streets to a temporary location on Court Street between Clinton and Dubuque Streets, next to the Court Street Transportation Center, until the service day concludes on Monday, July 3. There will be no transit service on Tuesday, July 4, due to the holiday. Normal bus service using the main transit interchange will resume on Wednesday, July 5. Iowa City Transit will operate a normal weekday and Saturday schedule during Jazz Fest.

Outbound bus stop closures:

Stop 7200: Washington St. and Linn St.
Stop 7201: Washington St. and Gilbert St.
Stop 7400: Clinton St. and Jefferson St.
Stop 7401: Jefferson St. and Linn St. 
Stop 7082: Washington St. and Madison St. 

Inbound bus stop closures 

Stop 7081: Madison St. and Washington St.
Stop 7079: UI Lindquist Center
Stop 7206: Market St. and Linn St.
Stop 7207: Clinton St. and Jefferson St.
Stop 7243: Iowa City Recreation Center 
Stop 7244: Burlington S. and Dubuque St. 

Customers who use these stops should catch their buses at the alternate interchange on Court St. These stops will reopen on Wednesday, July 5, 2017.

Friday, June 30: Iowa City Transit will run a normal weekday schedule free of charge. The detours and stop closures started on Thursday will still be in effect.

Saturday, July 1: Iowa City Transit will run a normal Saturday schedule free of charge. The detours and stop closures started on Thursday will still be in effect.

Sunday, July 2: No transit service.

Monday, July 3: Iowa City Transit will run a normal weekday schedule. The detours and stop closures started on Thursday will still be in effect.

Tuesday, July 4 (Independence Day): No transit service.

Parking: The Parking Office will be operating a normal weekday and weekend schedule from Thursday, June 30, through Monday, July 3. Parking ramps will be open and staffed. All parking regulations will be in effect and enforced.

On Tuesday, July 4, the Parking Office will be closed for Independence Day. City ramp and metered parking will be free.
