Members of the City Council have determined that At-Large Council Member Jim Throgmorton will serve a second term as Iowa City’s Mayor.
Council members voted 6-0, with Rockne Cole absent, during a special session that started at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018. This term will continue until 2020.
The Council also selected District A City Council member Pauline Taylor to serve as Mayor Pro Tem. She replaces Kingsley Botchway II, who began his second term as an At-Large Council member.
In Iowa City, the Mayor and Mayor Pro-Tem are determined among the City Council, not the public.
