This year’s Rummage in the Ramp -- Iowa City’s donate / resale event to try to keep furniture, household items, books and clothing out of the Landfill after students’ leases end -- is going strong, but there’s still time to donate and shop for items. A few pick-up appointments are also still available if you have furniture or other items you’d like to donate but no way to get them to the sale.
Donations may be dropped off at the lower level of Chauncey Swan Parking Ramp (between the Recreation Center parking lot and City Hall), or may be picked up by appointment. To sign up for a pick-up, visit http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f054aa5a829a6fe3-rummage. The fee for this service is $10, which must be prepaid with a credit card or paid in cash at the time of pick-up. Electronic items, such as computers, televisions, and laptops, will be subject to an additional $10 fee per item to cover the costs of recycling in case the items don’t sell.
Rummage in the Ramp donation and sale hours for the remainder of the week are:
- Friday, July 31: noon to 8 p.m.
- Saturday, Aug. 1: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Sunday, Aug. 2: noon to 8 p.m.
