Don't miss STEAM Fest on Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 1-4 p.m. at the Terry Trueblood Recreation Area Lodge Park Lodge, 579 McCollister Blvd. Children and adults of all ages are invited to experience hands-on educational activities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math, led by local community groups. Iowa City Parks and Recreation will host an Interactive Erosion Table, a new resource funded by the DNR REAP Conservation Education Program. Other activities include making “Ooblek” with Iowa Biosciences Academy, lakeside fishing with Taproot Nature Experiences, a laparoscopic surgery demonstration by UI Healthcare STEM Outreach Education, and many more. More than 20 organizations will host interactive activities.
Door prizes sponsored by University of Iowa Community Credit Union, Iowa City Landscaping and Garden Center, Target, Cold Stone Ice Cream, Earl May Nursery & Garden Center, Iowa Children’s Museum, Molly’s Cupcakes, Monica’s, Scheels and more will also be given out.
