The recent killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police has sparked protests across the nation, and in Iowa City. 

City leaders want to hear from you at our Speak Up, Speak Out series of events in neighborhoods throughout the community.

Mayor Bruce Teague and other community leaders will speak at three separate events at three different locations over the next four days across Iowa City. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to have their voice heard by city leaders and the community. 

  • 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Wetherby Park, 2400 Taylor Drive
  • 6 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2020 at Pheasant Ridge, outside the Neighborhood Community Center, 2651 Roberts Road
  • 2 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Mercer Park, 2701 Bradford Dr. 

All in attendance are strongly encouraged to wear cloth masks or face shields, and should maintain social distance at all times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
