The City of Iowa City is now accepting grant applications from small businesses in Iowa City impacted by the COVID-19 health crisis, through a partnership with the East Central Iowa Council of Governments (ECICOG).

Grants up to $15,000 (up to $10,000 for businesses without employees) are available to qualifying small businesses to support ongoing operational needs.

Eligible businesses must meet federal requirements for retaining or hiring primarily low-moderate income employees or by qualifying as a microenterprise (a small business owned by a low-moderate income person with four or fewer employees). To provide a better understanding of the program and eligibility, a virtual information session will be held via Zoom at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020. City of Iowa City and ECICOG staff will be on hand to discuss program requirements, the application process, as well as answer questions. Those interested can register here.
