The Old Capitol Sertoma Club will be serving up pancakes, sausage, and beverages at the 38th Annual Airport Pancake Breakfast and Fly-in on Sunday, August 28, 2016. This fundraising event is scheduled from 7 a.m. to noon at the Iowa City Municipal Airport at 1801 S. Riverside Drive. Tickets for the breakfast are $6 per person for those over age 10, and $4 for children aged 3 through 10.  Admission is free for kids aged 2 and under.

The fly-in will feature a variety of aircraft, including jets, single-engine planes and helicopters, as well as an electric flight demonstration and display of radio-controlled aircraft by the Iowa City Aero Hawks. Short airplane rides will also be offered for a low fee by Iowa Flight Training. The availability of these flights is limited and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

Other scheduled events include Sertoma's free hearing screening, a display of antique automobiles and sports cars, highway state patrol and civil air aircraft, fire, police and ambulance vehicles and equipment, and performances by Duder the Clown. There is no admission fee to view the displays, and free parking is available.

This annual event helps raise funds to support the programs and activities of the Sertoma Club, a service organization that provides assistance and aid to people with hearing, speech and other communicative disorders.
