Around the nation, older adults make their marks every day as volunteers, employees, employers, parents, grandparents, mentors and advocates. They offer their time, talents, and experience to the benefit of our communities.
The month of May is a special time to recognize these contributions as we observe Older Americans Month. This year, the Iowa City/Johnson County Senior Center is commemorating Older Americans Month through the sale of limited-time apparel to celebrate those who have “Aged In Iowa”.
The “cheesy” shirts and tote bags are a fun way to embrace Iowa roots, surprise a loved one with a gift, or show support for the unique and lasting contributions that older adults make in our communities.
Please join The Center in strengthening our community by purchasing “Aged in Iowa” apparel online at icgov.org/senior.
Proceeds from the sale of the shirts will support The Center's mission and help fund ongoing programs and services for area senior citizens. All apparel is being printed locally through Underground Printing and will be shipped directly to you after the campaign ends, with expected delivery of early June.
In this time of physical distancing, The Center remains committed to creating opportunities to support wellness, social connections, community engagement, and lifelong learning for our diverse and growing older adult population. To learn more, visit icgov.org.senior, or call 319-356-5220.
