If you are looking for opportunities to stay active, curious, and connected from anywhere this month, check out the Iowa City Senior Center’s new line-up of virtual programs.

Some highlights in The Center's May calendar include a virtual tour of the Old Capitol Museum, an author reading featuring mystery novelist Craig Willis, a multi-week video lecture series exploring the aging brain, and an array of fitness classes presented live over Zoom.

The public is invited to watch the premiere of a new video documenting The Center's intergenerational interview project, GenStories: Storytelling Across Generations, at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12.

GenStories brings together members of the Iowa City Senior Center and local teenagers for a series of conversations over Zoom.

New opportunity for North Liberty residents

The Center's May calendar also features a special membership offer for North Liberty residents. Now through June 30, 2021, North Liberty residents age 50+ can lock in a discounted membership at The Center for one year and enjoy the same discounted membership rates as Iowa City residents ($40 for an individual, $65 for a couple). This offer is made possible by grant funding from the City of North Liberty. North Liberty residents may call 319-356-5220 to sign up or renew membership.
