The community is invited to attend two visioning workshops on May 10 and 11, 2017 that will shape the future of two very different areas in Iowa City, the Northside Neighborhood and South District.
The workshops are the second set of discussions related to the Northside Neighborhood and the South District. City staff are working with Opticos Design, a consulting firm that specializes in planning and designing walkable, sustainable neighborhoods. Input from these workshops will be used to develop zoning tools to achieve the neighborhood vision.Northside Neighborhood Visioning Workshop
Help shape the future of the Northside Neighborhood by discussing priorities for preservation and possibilities for change during the Northside visioning workshop on Wednesday, May 10 from 6-8 p.m. at Horace Mann Elementary School, 521 N. Attendees will also participate in a table exercise to identify future residential development opportunities on vacant or underutilized properties. This workshop is a follow-up to the February 2017 Northside Neighborhood workshop.South District Workshop
Help build on the work accomplished in the South District Plan during the South District visioning workshop on Thursday, May 11 from 6-8 p.m. at the Alexander Elementary School Media Center, located at 3571 Sycamore Street.
