The Iowa City Downtown District (ICDD) and the City of Iowa City have partnered on the development of a set of guidelines that will serve as a design guide for storefronts and signage in the Downtown District and the Northside. The design guidelines promote restoration of architectural features and set clear standards for signage, outdoor patios, and other creative design opportunities.

The two groups are now inviting businesses, building owners, and the public to an open house to hear a brief presentation on the guidelines, review the draft proposal, and provide feedback for City and ICDD staff that will be considered for the final design document.

The event is scheduled Thursday, Nov. 5 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Harvat Hall in City Hall, 410 E. Washington Street. Registration is not required.
