If your holiday shopping is still in the form of a list, this weekend’s Holiday Market is a great time to get started buying for those on your gift list.

The Iowa City Holiday Markets, scheduled on Nov. 14 and Dec. 12, are part of the City of Iowa City’s Farmers Market program. This Saturday’s event will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Robert A. Lee Recreation Center, 220 S. Gilbert Street. Patrons can park in the adjoining Recreation Center parking lot and in the Chauncey Swan parking ramp at no charge.

Construction projects in the lobby area of City Hall will result in a temporary closure of the front door entrance on Washington Street, requiring residents and visitors to access the building from one of two east-side entrances. Police business and general information requests may be handled at a temporary customer service window that will be installed on the building’s south side, along Washington Street.

Work will get underway next Wednesday, Nov. 11, and continue through Friday, Dec. 11.

A new agenda has been posted for the upcoming meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission on Thursday, November 12, 2015. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. in Meeting Room A, Robert Lee Community Recreation Center, 220 S. Gilbert Street.

Effective at 6 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 9, the inbound bus stop located in the Sycamore Mall parking lot near the Sycamore Mall movie theaters (stop #7135) will reopen for service. This stop will again be served by the inbound Mall and Night/Weekend Broadway bus routes. Signage for the stop will be added soon.
