Join the Iowa City Human Rights Commission at 6 p.m. Monday, June 28, 2021, to celebrate the 52 anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, a pivotal event in the fight for LGBTQ rights, and the catalyst for the first Pride parade and Pride movement

The Commission will screen “Stonewall Forever,” a documentary exploring the past, present, and future of Pride. Following the film, a Q&A session with a panel of LGBTQ experts will be held to discuss the unique barriers and biases LGBTQ people face, parallels between past and present injustices, and other topics.

This virtual event is a part of the Human Rights Commission’s summer series on implicit bias.

"Stonewall Forever" is a documentary from NYC’s LGBT Community Center directed by Ro Haber. The film brings together voices from over 50 years of the LGBTQ rights movement to explore queer activism before, during and after the Stonewall Riots.
