Iowa City Police are investigating a robbery that happened outside Falbo's Pizza. 

The incident happened Saturday, May 20 at the pizza shop located at 457 S. Gilbert St. Police responded at 3 a.m. to a report of a fight in progress.

Officers arrived and found the victim outside with injuries. The victim reported that he was inside the restaurant and had returned some money to his pocket after paying for food when one of the suspects reached in and took a quantity of the cash. The confrontation eventually moved outside where the victim said he was going to call police, at which point one of the suspects punched the victim.

Both suspects fled the scene eastbound and were not located by responding officers. They were described as two African American males of average height and athletic build; one had shoulder length dreadlocks, the other had a short buzz cut, and one was wearing a red jacket. The victim was transported to the hospital for his injuries.

Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect(s).  Anyone with information about this crime is urged to contact CrimeStoppers at 358-TIPS (8477).  All calls are held in strict confidence and anonymity is guaranteed.  Individuals providing information do not have to reveal their identity to collect a reward.
