The Community Police Review Board (CPRB) will host its annual Community Forum to hear views on Iowa City Police Department policies, practices and procedures. The community is invited to submit questions and comments that will be used during the event.

The forum will begin at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2022. An electronic Zoom meeting is being held due to concerns presented by COVID-19.

Topics will include Communicating with the CPRB – Who we are and what we do.

The Iowa City Fire Department was called to a structure fire at 4462 Preston Lane on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at 7:11 p.m. Responding units arrived on scene at 7:16 p.m. and discovered a fire in the end unit of a two-story multi-unit condominium complex. Smoke was visible from the top of the garage door.

Firefighters entered the structure through the garage door and brought the fire under control by 7:30 p.m. The unit was occupied at the time of the fire and the occupants were able to exit safely after being alerted by smoke alarms. There were no injuries to occupants or firefighters...

As Fire Chief, Lyon will oversee all fire department operations for the City of Iowa City. The Iowa City Fire Department consists of 64 personnel and four fire stations.
