During the week of July 29, 2019, crew members for the Ped Mall Improvements Project continued installing pavers from the playground to the Iowa City Public Library’ west entrance.

Crews plan to place PCC sub slab from the west Library entrance to Linn Street by the end of this week (Friday, Aug. 9). This will allow the west entrance into the Pedestrian Mall to reopen.

On the west end of College Street, crews started installing PCC sub slab from Brothers Bar & Grill to The Saloon. Work continued on the story wall that will feature Iowa’s first Poet Laureate Marvin Bell, as well as the installation of underground electrical and telecommunications. That work will continue into this week.

The next Ped Mall Renovation Project meeting will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 9, in Room D at the Iowa City Public Library.
