Work on Phase 2 construction of the Ped Mall Improvements Project will begin for the season on Monday, May 13, 2019, while a few items from Phase 1 are also being finished. 

  • Construction continues on the stage canopy, with the glass crew hanging and framing for the next couple of weeks.
  • Work at Black Hawk Mini Park wraps up before Phase 2 begins.
  • Weather Dance Fountain equipment upgrades and granite tile replacement.
  • Walkway removal and replacement along the building face from Pitaya to Herteen and Stocker. 

The next Ped Mall business meeting will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019, at the Iowa City Public Library, Meeting Room D, 123 S. Linn St.

Business and property owners, as well as the general public, are invited to attend weekly Ped Mall construction updates each Friday morning during the duration of the Pedestrian Mall Improvements Project.
