The 23rd Annual Pat Meyer Vision Award ceremony will take place Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, at the Iowa City Public Library.

The Johnson County Coalition Against Domestic Violence (JCCADV) observes Domestic Violence Awareness Month each year by awarding the Pat Meyer Vision Award to a local individual and organization for their work to prevent or end domestic violence or their support of survivors. The award is named for Pat Meyer, who founded the first domestic violence shelter in Iowa City and was the first director of the Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP).

This year, JCCADV is recognizing Johnson County Sheriff Brad Kunkel for supporting domestic violence survivors during his law enforcement career and beyond. Big Grove Brewery will be recognized for regularly partnering with DVIP on outreach and awareness efforts, financial support, and additional support during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ceremony and lunch are open to the public and scheduled for noon to 1 p.m. in Meeting Room A at the Iowa City Public Library, 123 S. Linn St. The event can also be viewed online. Those interested will need to register via Zoom here (ID 852 2327 8559).
