The Awful Purdies will be the featured musical group at Party in the Park on Thursday, July 9, scheduled at the Terry Trueblood Recreation Area at the intersection of Sand Road and McCollister Blvd. The party will run from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and will be held at Shelter #1.

In addition to live music, the event will offer games, arts and crafts projects, and ice cream. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and join other friends and neighbors in the fun! This is a no-fee event and is open to the public.

Party in the Park is sponsored by the City of Iowa City’s Parks and Recreation Department and the Neighborhood Outreach Division. A party will be scheduled in a different Iowa City park each week through August 6, giving residents a chance to enjoy their summer evenings outdoors with friends and family while exploring the City’s many beautiful natural spaces and neighborhoods.
