The Park Road Bridge will close beginning Monday, May 14, 2018, and will impact the Manville Heights bus route.

Iowa City Transit will run two buses independent of each other during weekday service for Manville Heights route customers who are traveling to and from the Peninsula or Manville Heights neighborhoods to downtown and the UI North Hospital complex. Night and Saturday routes will remain unchanged.

For customers traveling to and from the Peninsula neighborhood to Downtown:

All Manville Heights buses will use the current Night/Saturday Manville Heights route on a 45-minute schedule to service the Peninsula neighborhood. Customers can expect the bus to maintain a normal weekday Manville Heights schedule with slight modifications. All stops along Foster Road or Dubuque Street will be serviced. However, this bus will not service the Manville Heights neighborhood or the North Hospital complex. This bus can be boarded at the normal Manville Heights location adjacent to Schaffer Hall at the transit interchange. Layovers can be expected at Walker Circle and Moses Bloom Lane (Stop #8090) and Forest View Trailer Park (Stop #8082) to ensure the modified route will remain on schedule.

For customers traveling to and from the Manville Heights neighborhood and North Hospital:

Iowa City Transit will run a North Hospital/Manville Heights shuttle from the south side of the transit interchange adjacent to the Old Capitol Town Center. This route will travel from Downtown through the North Hospital area on Newton Road and through Manville Heights using the normal Manville Heights route schedule. This route will reverse at Upper City Park where, after a layover, will continue inbound using the Manville Heights route. This route will not service the Peninsula neighborhood.
