The Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department is seeking the public's input on three park improvement projects that are a part of the 2017 Gather Here Park Master Plan.
Park improvement projects include Chadek Green Park, located at 1920 Friendship Street, Court Hill Park, located at 2825 Friendship Street, and Whispering Meadows Park, located at 2575 Lakeside Drive.
Chadek Green Park Open House
Chadek Green Park improvements include ADA access improvements, a new restroom, new shelter, and a parking area. An open house is scheduled at the park from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021.
Court Hill Park Open House
Court Hill Park improvements include ADA access improvements, playground replacement, and shelter replacement. An open house is scheduled at the park from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021.
Whispering Meadows Open House
Whispering Meadows Park improvements include ADA access improvements, a pocket park on Indigo Court, a trail connection, new shelter, and a small playground. An open house is scheduled at Wetherby Park, located at 2400 Taylor Drive, from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021.
Open House details
Project consultants from Snyder & Associates will be present to answer questions and discuss project details with residents. Neighbors are encouraged to stop in throughout the scheduled times.
For those who cannot make it to the in-person open houses, park improvement details will be listed online along with a survey for public feedback starting at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15, 2021. The public is asked to submit feedback by 8 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, 2021.
