Join the Office of Equity and Human Rights on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023, from noon-1:30 p.m. for a free virtual program, "Opioids, Overdose Education and Naloxone Distribution."
Participants will learn to:
- Identify how opioids affect the brain
- Identify risk factors associated with - and strategies to reduce - opioid overdose
- Assist someone experiencing an opioid overdose
- Administer naloxone to reverse an overdose
The training will be led by Carrie Hough, PhD, MPH. Carrie is a Prevention Specialist at Community & Family Resources in Iowa City who facilitates trainings under the State Opioid Response Grant.
