The City of Iowa City Human Resources Office will host an employment fair on Thursday, Feb. 25 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Procter and Gamble Meeting Room at Mercer Park Aquatic Center, 2701 Bradford Drive.

The employment fair will provide an opportunity for job-seekers to learn about more than 40 spring/summer positions that will be available in numerous City departments, and get information on how to apply. The City of Iowa City is developing a streetscape master plan for Riverside Drive, an important corridor for businesses and the community within the West Riverfront Subdistrict of Riverfront Crossings. This project extends from the Highway 1 / Highway 6 intersection to Myrtle Avenue.

Road Construction - Court Street

Weather permitting, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, Court Street will be reduced to one lane of alternating traffic between Seventh Avenue to Fourth Avenue. Flaggers will be on site to assist in directing traffic. This lane reduction is necessary to facilitate utility work in the area.

Motorists are to take note of this lane reduction and allow extra travel time as delays may occur. As always, caution should be exercised when traveling through all construction areas.

ICPL Teen Anime & Manga Festival Feb. 25

The Iowa City Public Library will host its annual Teen Anime & Manga Festival from 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25, in Meeting Room A.

Open to students in grades 7-12, this festival is an opportunity for teens to interact with fellow anime and manga enthusiasts, watch anime, discuss manga, win prizes, and eat massive amounts of candy sushi. Cosplay is always welcome and there will be prizes for those who participate.

We will screen episodes from three different anime: Haikyu!!, Golden Time and Steins;Gate.
