Starting Monday, May 4, MidAmerican Energy will begin replacing three power poles near the west end of the Iowa River Pedestrian Bridge. The work will impact trail access in this area as follows:

Pole 1: Work begins Monday, May 4, and should be complete on Tuesday, May 5. Trail will be closed immediately adjacent to Pole 1. The Iowa River Gazebo (ramp and stairs) and the Iowa River Pedestrian Bridge will remain open.

Pole 2: Work expected to begin Wednesday, May 6, and be complete on Friday, May 8. Trail will be closed from Pole 2 to top of ramp on north side of the Iowa River Gazebo. The stairs on the south side of the Iowa River Gazebo and the Iowa River Pedestrian Bridge will remain open.

Pole 3:  Work expected to begin Monday, May 11, and be complete on Friday, May 15.  The stairs on the south side of the Iowa River Gazebo and the trail immediately adjacent to Pole 3 will be closed.  The ramp on the north side of the Iowa River Gazebo and the Iowa River Pedestrian Bridge will remain open, except if a crane needs to swing material overhead. If that happens, the ramp and bridge will close for a few minutes.
