During the June 15 City Council meeting, Mayor Bruce Teague signed a proclamation announcing that Waste & Recycling Workers Week will be recognized in Iowa City from June 13 to June 19.
The proper collection and disposal of waste, recycling, and organic waste are integral to preventing litter, disease, and negative environmental impact. The City of Iowa City values and celebrates workers in the public and private trash, recycling, and organics industry in our community.
The best way you can say “thank you” to the men and women who collect your waste materials is to use your programs correctly.
