The Lucas Farms Neighborhood Association invites everyone to celebrate the history of Lucas Farms Neighborhood with several events held Friday, July 8, through Sunday, July 10, 2022.
Plum Grove is the home that was built by the first governor of the Territory of Iowa in 1844, Robert Lucas, located in what is now the Lucas Farms Neighborhood. He served as governor from 1838 until 1841.
This celebration showcases the unique history, artistic talents, and exquisite gardens of the area. Some events include:
- 5:30-8 p.m. Friday: Kid's Night at Highland Ave. Park & Resurrection Church parking lot. Free pony rides, kid’s games & crafts, free popcorn, and drinks.
- 1-5 p.m. Saturday: Art Market at Highland Park featuring neighborhood and local artists.
- 6-8 p.m. Sunday: A performance by the Eulenspiegel Puppets at 6 p.m. and then a performance by the Iowa City Community Band at 8 p.m.
