The party’s still going on, but not as originally planned.
The Linn Street Block Party, scheduled in tandem with the last Friday Night Concert Series of the summer, will still take place on Friday, Sept. 18, but in a different venue. To keep it out of the rain that’s forecast for Friday, the event will move off the street and into the Englert Theatre at 221 E. Washington Street.
A performance by Rude Punch, a rock-reggae band from the Quad Cities, is scheduled from 6 to 10 p.m., followed by Black Uhuru, a Grammy Award-winning roots reggae group from Jamaica that will perform from 8 to 10 p.m.
Street and alley closures that were announced earlier for the block party will not be put into effect. Linn Street will remain open.
