Sleep in on Black Friday this year, and opt to save your holiday shopping for Small Business Saturday. Even though this event is a national campaign to support local businesses, it holds a special importance since 90% of Iowa City's stores are locally owned. Plus, The City of Iowa City is offering free parking in all Downtown Ramps and Street Meters on Small Business Saturday.

Another annual shopping event is just around the corner. The Holiday Thieves' Market is an indoor art exhibition and sale held annually featuring artists from all over the Midwest and beyond. Over 100 artists will be selling original work in painting, ceramics, photography, woodworking, drawing, metal, glass, jewelry, fiber, and more!

Burn off some Thanksgiving calories by coming down the Iowa City Senior Center for the Barn Dance! Being held on Saturday, Nov. 26th, the Barn Dance is for people of all experiences. The Barn Dance is open to all: singles, couples and the entire family. Lessons available between 7:30-8 p.m., dance starts at 8 p.m.
