The City of Iowa City Public Art Program is seeking artists, artist teams, engineers, architects or others interested in creating a permanent wall installation at Robert A Lee Recreation Center. The goal of this project is to design and install an interactive, S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) based project that stimulates thought, conversation and creativity for the diverse demographic of visitors to the recreation center.

The Iowa City Animal Adoption Center will hold the annual Holiday with the Hounds on December 10th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event doubles as a Holiday Open House for people who are interested in adopting a pet, and a supply drive for animals housed at the Center. In honor of World AIDS Day, Johnson County Public Health will offer free rapid HIV screenings to the public in conjunction with information about the HIV epidemic and it's impact on our local communities. The screening will be held at the Iowa City Public Library on Thursday, Dec. 1st, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
