On November 2, 2015 at approximately 1:22 a.m., Iowa City Police Officers responded to the area of 910 West Benton St. for a report of two black males burglarizing cars.  When the officers arrived, they located the males and both took off running and were able to evade officers.   The males were described as young, slender, and approximately 5’8”. 

In checking the area, some vehicles that had been burglarized were located and a victim was located.  It is suspected there are more vehicles that were burglarized and the Iowa City Police Department is requesting that if your vehicle was entered, you report it. 

The Iowa City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating additional witnesses, evidence, or information about this incident.  Officer Andy Farrell is the lead officer on this case.  He can be reached by email at andrew-farrell@iowa-city.org or you can leave a voicemail at (319) 356-5275 and he will respond at his earliest convenience.  He works the Late Night shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

The Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering up to a $1000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest of this suspect(s). Anyone with information about this crime is urged to contact CrimeStoppers at 358-TIPS (8477).  All calls are held in strict confidence and anonymity is guaranteed.  Individuals providing information do not have to reveal their identity to collect a reward.

As always, all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
