On November 12, 2015, at approximately 1:02 a.m., Iowa City Police responded to 431 South Dodge Street for a report of an armed home-invasion robbery. 

According to several victims inside the residence, three black males suddenly, and without warning, kicked the front door into the residence and entered.  One male was brandishing a handgun and pointed directly at the victims and demanded cash and/or property.  The males went through the residence confronting victims and demanding cash and/or property.  All three males fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of cash and/or property.

One female victim sustained minor injuries after being hit in the head by the door being forced open.  She was evaluated on scene by the Johnson County Ambulance, but did not require further treatment.

The male brandishing the handgun was described as a dark-skinned black male, early 20’s, approximately 6’ tall with a slender build and wearing dark pants and a grey hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and pulled tightly around his face.

The other two males were described as black males who were both approximately 5’10” – 6” tall with slender builds, in their early 20’s, and wearing dark-colored clothing.  It is unknown whether or not these two males were also armed.

The responding officers as well as the Iowa City Police Department’s Street Crimes Action Team (SCAT) are actively investigating this incident.

This incident is under investigation and anyone with information about this robbery is requested to contact the Iowa City Police Department.  In addition, the Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering up to a $1000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest of this suspect.
