The Iowa City Police Department made an arrest following two recent robberies.

Police arrested 30-year-old Daniel James Crum on Friday, Feb. 3, 2017. He faces two counts of Second Degree Robbery and one count of Fifth Degree Theft and was taken to the Johnson County Jail.

The arrest follows two incidents: The first happened Jan. 24, 2017 at about 12:30 a.m. in the area of Benton Street and Giblin Drive. The victim told police she gave Crum a ride and he made demands and threats for money.  The second happened Jan. 28, 2017 in the 10 block of South Dubuque Street. The victim told police he was withdrawing money from an ATM when Crum grabbed his wrist and threatened him. No one was hurt in either incident.

Police are still looking into Crum's role in similar robberies. Additional charges are pending the final outcome of the investigation.

As with any criminal case, a charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
