Iowa City Police officers arrested a 29-year-old man following an incident of shots fired.

On Monday, July 18, 2016 officers responded to the area of 1100 Arthur Street at 12:49 a.m. for multiple reports of shots fired. Officers found shell casings and spoke to several witnesses who provided descriptions of the suspect and vehicle involved.

With this information, officers quickly located the suspect vehicle at 1264 Esther Court. Officers found D’Anthony Devon Money outside attempting to escape.  Officers later served a search warrant and the University of Iowa Police Department's munitions detection K-9 Unit found a gun and ammunition.

Police believe the shots were fired as a result of an ongoing conflict, and not at a specific person.

D”Anthony Money faces charges of going armed with intent and possession of a firearm as a felon. Police also arrested him on changes of failure to appear on a probation revocation, as part of an outstanding warrant unrelated to this investigation.

The investigation is ongoing. The Johnson County Sheriff's Office and University of Iowa Police Department assisted with this investigation.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
