Update 04/07/2017: Katherine "Katie" JoAnne Brooker, 37 years old, is still missing. Over the course of the investigation, the few leads presented on the potential location of Brooker have been investigated and thus far have been unfounded. The Iowa City Police Department continues to search for Brooker and the case is still being treated as a missing person with no foul play suspected.

Throughout the day on April 7, at the request of the ICPD, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa City Fire Department will be searching along the banks of the Iowa River in areas unable to be safely traveled on foot. The Police Department made this request after receiving a tip of a possible sighting of Brooker along the river bank area. 

ICPD continues to request the public’s assistance in locating Brooker and encourages anyone with information regarding her whereabouts to immediately contact the Johnson County Joint Emergency Communications Center at 319-356-6800. 


The Iowa City Police Department is requesting the public's assistance in locating a person reported as missing. 

Katherine "Katie" JoAnne Brooker, 37-years-old, has been reported to have health issues that could present further health or safety concerns if not located.  Brooker is 5'9", 195 lbs, with light brown hair and blue eyes. 

Katie was last seen at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City on March 10, 2017 and has not been seen or heard from since that time. She was last seen wearing a silver coat and red stocking cap. It is not believed that she has access to a vehicle, cell phone, or money. Police and the family are requesting the public's assistance in locating her.
