On Tuesday, November 14, 2016 at approximately 8:10 p.m. Iowa City Police responded to the 600 block of S. Gilbert St. for a report of an armed robbery. According to the adult female victim, she was in the parking lot of 625 S. Gilbert St. when a tan minivan pulled into the lot and a man jumped out of the driver’s side sliding door and approached her. The man pointed a black hand gun toward her direction and told her to give him her money. When she responded that she had no money the man jumped back into the van and the van sped out of the parking lot in an unknown direction.

The victim was not hurt in the incident. Iowa City Police were not able to locate the van.

The suspect is described as a college-aged white male, approximately 5’8" tall with a thin build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, with the hood up, and black basketball shorts.

Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1000 for information leading to the arrest of this suspect.
