Transit interchange moved to Court Street Sept. 23-24

Iowa City Transit will move the transit interchange to Court Street between Clinton and Dubuque streets at the beginning of the service day Friday, Sept. 23, 2022.

The change will be in effect Friday through Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022. Normal service will resume Monday, Sept. 26, 2022.

This change accommodates the Summer of the Arts' Soul and Blues Festival, which runs Friday through Saturday in Downtown Iowa City.

Transit detour announced due to Kickoff 2 Kinnick

Iowa City Transit routes will detour due to the Kickoff 2 Kinnick race from 5:45 a.m. until approximately noon on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022.

The 12 - Highway 1, 10 - West Iowa City, and 8 - Oakcrest bus routes will use the home football game detour routes due to the lane reductions in place for the event.

Iowa City Transit will not service the UIHC campus, Melrose Avenue, Hawkins Drive, or Newton Road during this time Saturday. Customers needing to access the UIHC campus prior to noon Saturday should use the bus stop located at Benton Street and Streb Street (stop #8125)...

Kickoff to Kinnick 5K is Saturday, Sept. 24; be aware of travel impacts during the event

The Kickoff to Kinnick 5K race will take place Saturday, Sept. 24, 2022. The race begins near Carver Hawkeye Arena and ends at the 50 yard line of Kinnick Stadium. The course will be open from 9 a.m. to noon.

The 4-Downtown Shuttle bus will detour on Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2022, using Gilbert Street to College Street to Van Buren Street. The detour is due the closure of Washington Street to through traffic between Gilbert and Van Buren Streets.

Stop 7046, Washington Street at City Hall, will not be serviced until Washington Street is reopened at the end of the day on Sept. 14. Transit passengers may access the bus at the intersection of Washington and Van Buren streets.
