Looking for a fun and educational outlet for your child during Spring Break? Look no further than the Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department's Spring Break Camps, scheduled March 14-18 from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Registration begins Wednesday, March 2, and forms are now available at the Robert A. Lee Recreation Center, 220 S. Gilbert Street, or the Mercer/Scanlon facility, 2701 Bradford Drive. Registration forms are also available online at www.icgov.org/event/spring-break-camp.
This year, there are three camp options available: a five-day morning STEM camp that will focus on science, technology, engineering, and math; a morning STEAM camp (STEM plus “A” for art); and afternoon Adventure Camps.
Sylvan STEM Camp
Parks and Recreation is partnering with Sylvan Learning this year to offer a full five days of STEM programming. The Sylvan camp will run in the mornings, Monday through Friday. Students who register for this camp must sign up for all five days, because each day builds for the next. Participants enrolled in the STEM camp are also welcome to sign up for the afternoon Adventure Camps.
In the Sylvan camp, grades K-3 will use physical science and simple machine knowledge to build Lego models, while grades 4-6 will learn problem-solving and other skills by programming Lego robots.
Daily STEAM and Adventure Camp
Can't commit to a full, five-day program? That's OK! We are offering both morning and afternoon daily programs. Students can sign up for morning and/or afternoon sessions for as many days as they want -- one day to all five! The schedules are as follows:

Tuesday, March 15, 2016:
