The Streets Division will attempt to make an additional 6th pass of the City beginning in Zone #5 on December 1st.  Crews will not return to any of the zones once collection has been completed. Additionally, crews will not return for piles raked after the area has been collected or for piles not collected due to parked cars.

Please be Advised – There is a strong possibility that we may not make it through all seven zones again. By placing your leaves curbside this late in the season you are taking a risk. If you want to guarantee the pickup of your leaves, we strongly urge you to bag your leaves in the City of Iowa City yard waste bags and place them at the curb on your regular garbage day. If you have a way to transport your leaves, you may also take them out to the landfill free of charge.

Please Keep in Mind - The continuation of the program is weather permitting and may end at any time. Unfortunately, we do not have the ability to control when the leaves fall, but we do need to prepare the trucks for winter maintenance.  This includes removing the leaf boxes, inspecting the trucks for structural issues, installing the plows and salt applying equipment.
