Dubuque Street will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction between Foster Road and Ronalds Street, beginning Tuesday, June 28, 2016, weather permitting.

The lane reductions are necessary to install utilities for the Iowa City Gateway Project, and will continue throughout the duration of the reconstruction project.  Access to all residences, Terrell Mill Park and Mayflower Residence Hall, will be maintained at all times.

In addition, beginning the week of July 5th, Park Road will close between Riverside Drive and the Upper City Park exit to reconstruct Park Road without further disturbance to existing trees and utilities in the area.  It is anticipated that Park Road will reopen to normal traffic during the first week of August.  Access to the Upper City Park entrance will be available via Riverside Drive and access to the Lower City Park entrance will be available via Dubuque Street / Park Road.

A marked detour route will be posted for the Park Road closure. Vehicles traveling on Park Road between Rocky Shore Drive and Riverside Drive will not be impacted. Pedestrian traffic will be directed to use the Hancher Pedestrian Bridge.

Drivers should take note of these construction areas and should allow extra travel time as delays will occur, or seek an alternate route.  As always, drivers and pedestrians should use caution when traveling through construction areas.
