Area burn survivors and their families will gather in Iowa City this Saturday for the third annual Burn Survivors Together, an event designed to support burn survivors and to educate families on the resources available to them.

The event will take place Saturday, April 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Iowa City Moose Family Center, 3151 Highway 6. The Iowa City Fire Department will host the gathering, along with sponsorship and support from the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Burn Treatment Center and the St. Florian Fire and Burn Foundation.

Guests will hear a presentation detailing the organizations and support programs available to burn victims and their families. There will also be a scavenger hunt, fire engine tour and games.

This event is one of four scheduled across the state. West Des Moines, Sioux City and Bettendorf are also hosting events.
