Are you an artist seeking work? Have you ever needed to find an artist or musician but didn’t know where to start?

The Iowa City Artist Registry is a project of the Iowa City Public Art Program and provides a portal for visual, literary, performing (including musicians and vocalists), and multi-disciplinary artists who either live in Iowa City or whose work is created, performed or displayed in Iowa City.

This Registry is a new way to support our local artists and performers by providing a place to list and share their work and contact information, making it easier for the public to connect, and for artists to collaborate.

The Registry can be used by local artists to find collaborators, curators to find new artists to exhibit, theaters, music venues, and event planners to find performers, and art collectors looking for local artists.

Artists of all disciplines and experience, including musicians and vocalists, who live in Iowa City, create their art in Iowa City, or perform/display their art primarily in Iowa City as well as arts organizations or businesses representing artists are invited to register. Submissions are reviewed prior to being placed on the register.

Public use of the registry

The Registry is available for the general public to search for local Iowa City artists for private commissions, music events, or general interest. The Iowa City Public Art Program uses the Registry to provide an opportunity to feature local artists, as well as connect with them about arts funding available through the Iowa City Public Art Program. Since the Registry is new, please check back as additional artists register.

Users can view and search for artists by discipline or general browsing, and can contact registrants through their websites or other information they may provide. The City of Iowa City does not facilitate communication between the public and the artists.

The Registry is free to join and to search. Visit our website for more information about the registry. Please contact the Iowa City Artist Registry at with questions or need for more information.
